Put these albums in the order of your preference:

Vienna (1980)
Rage In Eden (1981)
Quartet (1982)
Lament (1984)

Now I’m an Ultravox fan from the very early days even before Midge Ure was with Thin Lizzy , great keyboards, Midge was a great writer (I recall watching a song recently Fade to Grey live which he wrote for Steve Strange , amazing) and Billy Currie revolutionised synthesizers! . I have every single pre-release and album..

In order:

Vienna (1980) – wins for the track Western Promise
Quartet (1982)
Rage In Eden (1981)
Lament (1984)

Thanks for the question

I don’t have this one yet – but I’m probably going to buy it tomorrow.

It did not live up to the quality of Quartet the previous album (which is one of their best). I would say this album highlighted the internal problem the band was having as regards personnel issues and differences hence thereafter a downward decline and eventual solo split by Midge Ure. However there some very good quality songs that also had chart success and the keyboards are fantastic as ever.

In this order:

1. Dancing with Tears in My Eyes
2. One Small Day
3. Lament
4. White China
5. A Friend I Call Desire
6. When the Time Comes
7. Man of Two Worlds
8. Heart of the Country
